She is very playful and in great physical condition. She is very happy to run about the garden most of the time and is very inquisitive, she gets walked about three times per week at the moment although it should be once a day even for a short walk. He was found with no collar wandering around a church car park on his own, had been there for a few days. Not sure if he has been neutered. His tail has been cut. He is small/medium dog. He is tan all over with black strands, white chest & white sock on the front right foot. Very friendly and loves being around people. He is thought to be approx 1 year old. He is already up on the ISPCA website in the lost and found section, if no one can take him, they will take him in approx 5-6 weeks as they are already full with dogs looking for homes at the moment. He is very lively & energetic so would need someone who can give him plenty of exercise. Very friendly who loves being around people. She is now with my elderly Dad but he cannot look after her for much longer. She can be sensitive and nervous. She does not like too many people at once and especially dislikes a lot of men. She will either bark at them or cower and shake uncontrollably. Yet there are some men she does not object to and we don’t know why she does this. I assume it is because she was abused as a puppy. We got her from the pound when she was about 1 year old. They said they thought she’d been abused. As she grew up in a family home she must be part of a family. She simply isn’t one of those dogs that is happy outside and entertains themselves. I have attached a picture of her taken about 2 years ago. This picture featured on Martin King’s weather programme on TV3 a couple of years ago and was published in his book last year. She loves to play fetch. She is fantastic with children and loves them very much. She is very gentle with them and loves to play “hide the stick”. You throw the stick and then she runs and gets it, then she hides it and you have to find it! It’s her favourite game. She can also play football. She pushes the ball with her nose. You can kick it and she’ll chase it and then she’ll push it around until you come and tackle her for it. That is if she doesn’t decide to change the game and hide it from you under a bush! She had all her vaccinations and she is spayed also. She is a little old now at 12 and is a bit slower than before. She gets quite a bit stiff after exercise.
