Pups This litter of pups look very like labrador pups but their mother is a white & tan Jack Russell x collie and we can only assume the father was a black Lab. There are 3 male & 1 female approx 9wks old. As their mother is quite small they will probably grow to be medium sized dogs. We are looking for homes where they will live indoors as part of the family and they won't be suitable for homes where the owners are out at work all day. Vaccinated and wormed. Sylva Sylva is a pretty greyhound of a most unusual colour and we have never had an all white greyhound before. She has tiny light brown spots on her ears but other than that is totally white. She is three years old and has never raced. She is quiet and a bit shy but once she gets to know her new owners she will come out of her shell. She is getting more friendly every day. Sylva needs to gain some confidence and that will happen with all the wonderful and friendly care she is now getting. Already she is getting much better and is not so shy. Ben Ben is an affectionate, magnificent beautiful, black, neutered tom, who came out of the farming environment, so he likes a lot of space. He was in a poor condition when we found him and unfortunately we need to find a good home for him as we're moving to a smaller home. Raven This is Raven, a mostly all-black female greyhound. We think she is around 18 months old. She is very friendly and wants to play with everyone. She is in a large pen with two other dogs and gets along well with both of them. She would love to find a forever home and with good care, and a good brush to get the old winter coat out of her she will be very pretty and a beautiful shiny black. She will have her shots, worming and spaying done in the next few weeks and will be ready to go to a new home. Poor Raven, her only fault is that she is yet another greyhound that does not make the grade and is not fast enough to go on to a racing career. Collie Babies Just take one look at these beauties. These are our adorable PB Border Collie babies. There are 6 in all – 5 male and 1 female. Brus PROVISIONALLY BOOKED! Based in County Offaly, Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary specializes in caring for and socializing its hounds in a caring and rural home environment. All the hounds here are neutered, vaccinated, wormed and otherwise in excellent condition. Brus is a very large, exuberant and playful boy. In spite of his size, he plays well with all the other dogs and is very quiet and mannerly in the house....though I would not leave a roast chicken at nose level!!! Brus is very good on the leash and in the car, ADORES people, and is in training now for being allowed to run loose in nearby fields. Five years old, Brus has many many more years of zest in him. With a stunning velvety coat and just bursting with personality, Brus really needs to go to a home experienced with large dogs...and if it has a cat or two, then you should know that Brus so far is impressing us with his lack of reaction to cats. Tootsie Tootsie is a brindle Boxer, approximately five years old. We have nothing but nice things to say about this lovely dog. She is sweet, placid and easy-going. She is sociable with people and mixes very well with other dogs. We've also discovered that she's clever and obedient - while telling another dog to sit, we turned around to find Tootsie sitting perfectly! The same thing happened when we told another dog to lie down! At some point in her life, someone put a lot of time and effort into Tootsie, and it shows. Tootsie is thin at the moment, but with good food she is rapidly gaining condition. She has a bit of an underbite, with a permanent toothy smile. We find this very cute! Fiona Based in County Offaly, Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary specializes in caring for and socializing its hounds in a caring and rural home environment. All the hounds here are neutered, vaccinated, wormed and otherwise in excellent condition. Fiona is just two years old and the very tiniest greyhound I have ever seen. Almost pure white, but with a little black around one eye and ear, Fiona came from bad circumstances and right now is quite afraid of people, though curious about them and slowly learning to enjoy life. She gets along very well with the other dogs, and is making good progress with housetraining. Also very good in the car and on the leash, Fiona would at this point need a quiet and experienced owner. Devon Based in County Offaly, Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary specialises in caring for and socialising its hounds in a caring and rural home environment. Here she is pictured with her friend Charlotte. Devon has run about 100 races, but somehow has retained a fairly quiet countenance and almost glues herself to you when out walking. Devon gets along with other dogs, loves people, responds to her name, is very good in the car, and is a possible candidate for cat-socialising. Doggie We have been caring for Doggie, a 14-yr-old Pomeranian, since he hobbled into our lives in Dublin. That was 10 years ago and at the time, the vet who diagnosed his limp said he was four or five years old. Doggie recovered from his leg strain, ran away from us several times, befriended two house cats and two other rehomed dogs, and now is getting around slowly. That's creating problems because he competes for floor space with our little seven-month-old girl who has not figured out how to stop her baby walker. We're afraid Doggie will get hurt in the environment he long considered his own space. He's also put himself at risk with the busy national road outside by wandering down the middle stripe when friends have left our front door wide open. Doggie is a friendly, older dog. He has to have small hard food or soft dog food because his teeth are falling out. His hearing isn't as good as before or his selective hearing has become much more precise. We want to rehome Doggie directly or minimise the time he spends among a cluster of other dogs. When he's in the kennels, he barks himself hoarse and he gets upset with cold concrete. Lance Lance is an eight year old neutered male. He is a rough haired mixed breed with lots of character. He is approx. the size of a labrador. His black and grey coat makes him look older than his years, his playful nature supports this. He loves to play ball and bounces around the garden like a two year old. He really enjoys a walk on the beach and is facinated by the waves. He is a gentle, calm chap and very loyal to a kind hand. He is house trained and walks well on the lead. He gets on well with other dogs. His only vice is that he dislikes cats. Lance is in foster care because he was found wandering in a very bedraggled state. He will make someone a wonderful companion. With impressive racing bloodlines, he still somehow did not make the grade for racing, and was left in a Dublin pound to be put to sleep. This striking lad is friendly, well-behaved, and gets along with other dogs nicely. Not too boisterous and yet still loves to play, Tango is turning into a biddable and well behaved boy. He travels well in the car, is being socialised to cats, and will make a handsome and dedicated companion. Christopher Based in County Offaly, Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary specializes in caring for and socializing its hounds in a caring and rural home environment. This quiet and sad little man arrived here in mid-March, and was so run down I assumed he was elderly. However, it turns out he is closer to 18 months and just had a bad start in life. He has improved beautifully, and responds well to his name, is housetrained and excellent on the leash, gets along with the other dogs, loves the car, and is cat-friendly. Petal is a one year old little imp of a girl, playful, a bit shy sometimes, sensitive and clever. She blended into the group here quite well, and loves to steal things from the table and worktop. This is typical young greyhound behaviour, and she will outgrow it. Petal is very good on the leash, in the car, and is doing well at getting housetrained. Lola Lola is a 1 year old female Border Collie. Her owners could no longer keep her or her sister Leah so they came to us with dreams of new homes. They have not received much socialisation and are very nervous of strangers. Lola is the more confident of the two. She will need an understanding home where she will gain confidence. GUS Gus is a terrier cross and is the most relaxed easy going little fellow you could meet. He was found some months ago in a very sad and neglected state. Mischa Mischa is a delicious Border Collie puppy. She's just eleven months old. We'll try to be balanced in our description of this gorgeous girl, as we really are quite smitten! Mischa is a typical collie pup, all wriggles and giggles! She is super-friendly and loves attention. She's also bursting for a nice long run through the fields and someone to teach her a trick or two! Border Collies are very smart and athletic dogs with a strong working drive. They can develop bad habits out of boredom and frustration if left to their own devices for long periods or if given insufficient exercise. We feel Mischa is going to be a super pet for the right person. We would like to place Mischa with someone with knowledge of the breed and who can devote a lot of time to fulfilling Mischa's needs for exercise and mental stimulation. Tiger Based in County Offaly, Orchard Greyhound Sanctuary specialises in caring for and socialising its hounds in a caring and rural home environment. Just three years old in April 2008, Tiger has neither stripes nor a ferocious temperament, and in fact he is a very placid and easygoing sort of dog, and is a good candidate as a first greyhound or even first dog for someone or some family. He gets along very well with the other dogs here, and comes across as a dog who has always been handled kindly. Tiger needs a small bit more weight on him and some improvement to his coat, but he is otherwise ready for a home. Tiger is learning not to pull on the leash, but is excellent in the car and responds well to his name. A happy, quiet, gentle and playful boy, he will make an ideal addition to anyone's home. Brand This is the lovely Brand, he is a 2 year old collie cross. We think he was mistreated by someone as he fears men. He cowers when you approach him but he does like to be stroked and enjoys treats. He is begining to trust us and we would like to find him a very understanding owner who will love him and give him a great home where he will never know another day of cruelty. Cari is an 8 yr old gentle lady, who takes no guff from the youngsters but is very good with all dogs and is particularly good with children. Still needing to gain some weight, Cari has had several litters in her life, and so needs some weeks to benefit from extra nutrition. She is very accepting of all dogs, from large to small, and is easy to walk on the leash and very good in the car. Lucky Poor Lucky was rescued after his owner moved house and left him in the back garden. Kind neighbours fed him over the wall and gave him water for over three weeks. Eventually they managed to get him to us and he is now looking for a new home where he will be cherished for ever more. This reall nice terrier is approx 1 yeal old and is very friendly. Darcy - Greyhound Darcy is a five or six year old brindle greyhound (possibly crossed with lurcher) who was found wandering around cork very hungry and riddled with fleas and had some mange. He is now in foster care and is thriving but needs to find a forever home. He is a very lovable chap and is great with people, kids, other dogs and even totally ignores the hamster. Stuart Stuart is a medium-sized terrier cross. He's two years old. Stuart is a friendly chap who gets along well with other dogs. Mable When Mable came to us she was absolutely terrified. We can only imagine what she went through to make her so afraid. She spent the first week curled up in the corner afraid to move. Slowly she began to trust us and her confidence is starting to grow. She has the best personality and is really sweet and gentle. She gets on great with other dogs. Klepto Klepto is a very unusual looking chap. He's quite tall, with long straight legs, and Spitz-like ears! He's certainly a head-turner. Klepto gets his name for his funny habit of borrowing bits and bobs and bringing them into his bed! Klepto is just ten months old - and still very much a puppy at heart. He has a smashing temperament - he is very sweet and absolutely loves attention and human contact - in fact we think he would do best in a home where he wouldn't be left for long periods, as he's much too sociable! Klepto is very good with other dogs and travels well - he is as quiet as a mouse in the car! He's a medium-sized dog with a good dollop of collie in the mix, so he does need an active home where he'll get lots of walks. Schumann Oh Schumann, how can you summarise such a lovely dog in just a few short words? This handsome chap is only ten months old. A very kind student called Roz noticed him sitting outside the local college library all day. It certainly was a smart move on Schumann's part, as Roz phoned us to take Schumann into our care. Schumann has the sofest, cuddliest coat, and he loves being rubbed and having his ears stroked. He's a complete teddy bear who loves people and just wants someone to be his best friend. Louie Louie is a young small male Lurcher. He was picked up running outside Charleville. He had very bad mange and was starving. He is now on the mend and looks very handsome. ROBBIN is a lovely Pony and she is aged 16 year’s and a height of just 14 hands and she is a lovely Chestnut colour. Her Laminitis is now under control but she will only be suitable as company for another Horse or Pony and will not be suitable for riding. We are looking for very special people to adopt this fine mare that will have the sense to keep her on restricted grazing and feeding over the winter period as we now have it under control. She has been shod with special shoes and this has helped greatly with her sore feet and she will get these shoes changed on a regular basis. She is looking for a Long Term Foster Home with a shelter and another Equine for company and she is well used to electric fencing or post & rail as we do not like BARBED WIRE for horses. Buddy This gorgeous baby is Buddy. He is an 11 week old Labrador/Spaniel X. Buddy will be quite a big dog when fully grown so will need a large secure garden and a home where he will get lots of walks and cuddles and kisses. He is wormed and vaccinated. Roscoe This handsome boy is Roscoe. He is a Collie/Spaniel X aged between 2 and 3 years old. Roscoe was found as a stray and was in very good condition, so we feel someone is missing him, but we have not managed to locate his owner so he is looking for a new home. He is very gentle and affectionate and loves lots of attention. He also gets on very well with other dogs. As you can see he has 3 legs but this does not slow Roscoe down at all. He loves going for walks but short walks suit best. Roscoe needs a cat free home. He is neutered and vaccinated. For more information please contact Paulines Rescue.
